FULTON COUNTY (25News Now) – Rescue crews freed one person Wednesday morning from the wreckage of a sport utility vehicle that overturned near a creek in Fulton County.
A passing motorist called 911 after spotting the wreckage on Route 9 and Turkey Creek about 11 a.m. The person was partially pinned under the SUV, according to the Cass-Putnam Rescue in a Facebook post.
Crews used “jaws of life” and other equipment to free the victim.
A Life Flight helicopter flew the patient to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The person’s condition is not available.
The Facebook post said it was a “team effort’ to save the person’s life. Crews were grateful that someone spotted the vehicle because it could not be seen from the road or the bridge.
